This year GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is celebrating 30 years of consistent service and growth. GEM’s motto, “Our Partnership, Your Success,” is based on years of successful relationships marked by respect, fairness, and exceeding expectations.

GEM was founded as an engineering and technical services firm to support Oak Ridge federal operations in 1994. GEM’s small team worked diligently on developing key relationships with industry leaders to deliver quality service to clients. This persistence and hard work led to GEM receiving its first contract in 1996 supporting the Y-12 & K-25 facilities. With the success of that project, contracts have consistently been awarded to GEM, and it has expanded into a nationwide, multi-discipline provider.

In the past 30 years, the GEM team has worked together to solve complex challenges, such as managing the design/build of new facilities, decontaminating and demolishing legacy facilities, modernizing aging infrastructure, and providing niche engineering capabilities to support critical nuclear security missions across the nation.

GEM’s commitment to the quality and success of these projects is reflected in numerous accolades, including two Y-12 Small Business of the Year awards; four safety awards from the National Safety Council; two regional Top Workplace Awards; seven Excellence Awards from the National Nuclear Security Administration; and the Minority Business Excellence Award from the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce.

“Collectively, we developed a strong foundation for future success,” remarks Michael Evans, GEM President and CEO. “We look forward to continued growth as we explore both familiar and new frontiers and challenges. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our employees for their talent, dedication, and hard work that has brought GEM this far. Much of GEM’s success is attributed to each of our employees and the expertise they bring to the team. Together we embrace the future as we look forward to continued excellence, teamwork, and collective success!”
